Our group was established in 2006, with approximately 600 people in our area.
Achievements to date:
- Summer Camp – In its 5th year
- 3 Laptops with older people in mind to learn the basics of email/searching the web
- New shrub beds, new crafted pots/ trees planted
- Calendar produced by local people showing off Goresbridge
- Tables replaced at The Park near River Barrow
- 3 Welcome stones upon entrance to the village
- Limestone seats on the Barrow Line
- Community Day Out/Field Day
- Defibrillator presented to the village
- Nature Preservation – 52 Ducks on the river
- Classes: Gardening/Hip-hop/Set dancing/Keep fit/Basket weaving/Back to Education
- Library
- Community Garden
- Kayaking on the river ~Trip to Oakwood for teenagers
- Painted Walls – Derelict buildings
- Spring Clean in its 4th year
- Tidy Towns in its 2nd year
Our current projects are:
- Fetac Level 5 in Care for the Elderly
- Calendar 2012
- Christmas Cards from Goresbridge
- Working together with all groups and organisations to put a 5 year plan in place for the village
- Lighting the bridge and lighting the walkway
- Landscaping, Tree and shrub planting
- Built BBQ
- More limestone seating and tables
- Surface dressing at boat slip
- More classes in Computer Training for the elderly, Basket Weaving, Photography
