UPDATE: The 2020 Rebate Scheme has now closed for applications. Payments will be processed shortly.
The Department of Justice has renewed the Text Alert Rebate Scheme for a further year.
Muintir na Tíre will administer this scheme on behalf of all eligible Text Alert Groups. The scheme will see groups receive a rebate on their eligible operating costs.
Change: This year we are moving to a calendar year basis. Eligible costs will be from the 16 month period from 1 September 2019 (closing date for last scheme) to 31 December 2020. This is a once-off adjustment and there is no guarantee of future funding.
To be eligible, groups must:
- Be an active Community Text Alert group. Activity may be demonstrated by sending messages, holding meetings, etc.
- Have registered with An Garda Síochána using form TA1, before 31 December 2020.
- Comply with the agreed Text Alert guidelines.
Eligible costs include the following costs for the previous period:
– Costs of issuing texts.
– Cost of insurance (to a maximum value of the standard Community Alert policy).
– Affiliation fees.
Groups should submit an application to Muintir na Tíre (firstname.lastname@example.org – please do not use any other email address) before 28 February 2021 on the application form below and enclose evidence of eligible costs. This can take the form of an invoice dated anytime within the previous 16 months (1 September 2019 to 31 December 2020). Any final determination on what constitutes an eligible cost will be made by Muintir na Tíre.
