Muintir na Tíre is a company limited by guarantee (CRO Dublin registration number 247516) with its registered office at Canon Hayes House, Tipperary. The Board is elected from our member groups, with special expertise co-opted where needed. The Board operate in a voluntary capacity and are not paid. Paddy, who comes from an agriculture background, has a BSc in Rural Development and IT and teaching qualifications. He is a voluntary and community representative with North Kilkenny Development, South Laois Tourism Network, Ring A Link, and the Rural Science Association.

Michael is co-owner of an SME with over 20 years of experience serving the intensive Agricultural sector, Food Industry, and the Waste Management Sectors, in respect of their Environmental Management Systems, Waste and Nutrient Recovery plans. He is a Director of the AD facility in Timoleague and involved in the GRAZE renewable gas concept at Mitchelstown. A past President of Muintir Na Tire he has a unique knowledge of what a sustainable rural based economy should be.

Jackie Meally

Moneenroe Community Council, Co Kilkenny
Jackie is a former Chair of Moneenroe Community Council in Co. Kilkenny. He is General Manager of Ring a Link Rural Transport / Local Link delivering rural services in County Carlow, Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Wicklow and North Fingal. Jackie is a member of the County Carlow Transport, Environment and Infrastructure SPC. He is treasurer of Carlow Older Persons Forum and is involved in a number of rural and community development organisations.

Paddy Byrne

Paddy has been involved in community work for over 30 years. In that time he has been involved in the Carnew Enterprise Centre and his local Askamore group, leading to a Community Childcare Centre, national loop walks, community park and playground, and the current refurbishment of the Community Centre. He served on the Board of Wexford Local Development and is a former National President of Muintir.

Frank McCarthy

Darrara Community Council, Co Cork
Frank is a retired business manager with particular skills in finance, project management, corporate governance and information technology. He has a long involvement with community development and an interest in mental health, having organised programmes in this area. He is particularly involved in the area of community energy and climate change.

Paul is a County Councillor, Peace Commissioner, and Parliamentary Secretary.
Padraig Vaughan

Pádraig is a retired bus driver who is extensively involved in his local community, including chairing the Board of Management of his local national school, and developing the Community Text Alert programme.

Teresa Hinchey

Teresa is a retired Community Employment Scheme Supervisor and Manager of Tipperary Community Council. She has been Secretary of Cappawhite Community Alert for 20 years and has served as a Drector of South Tipperary Development Programme.

Danny Winter

Danny works as a HGV driver. He is the Chairman of Knockanure Community Centre and Knockanure Valley Text Alert and also a director and instructor with the local CFR group - NE Kerry Heart Savers.
Aidan O’Gormáin

Aidan is a management consultant providing government affairs, business development and stakeholder engagement services to clients in Ireland and the UK. He holds an MBA and has formerly worked as a political advisor and in leadership roles within member centred organisations. He has a keen interest in community enterprise, regional development and the renewable energy policy. He is active in various committees and local community initiatives at home near Cashel in Tipperary.

Gerard is a former senior retail manager at one of Ireland's largest agri businesses. He specialised in customer engagement. He has also been long involved with his local Community Council which is very active and innovative.

Charles is a retired Local Government Official with a background in Civil Engineering, qualified with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Programme Management. He is Chairperson of his local Community Council and has a keen interest in community development and alternative energy sources.
