 About Ardifnnan

Ardfinnan is a small rural village situated at the foot of the Knockmealdown Mountains and on the banks of the River Suir approximately 9 miles from Clonmel on the road R665 from Clonmel in Co. Tipperary to Mitchelstown Co. Cork.  Ardfinnan is referred to as the height of Saint Finnan the Leper. The Rian Bo Padraig or the way of St Patricks Cow passes through Ardfinnan from Cashel, Co. Tipperary to Lismore, Co Waterford. Ardfinnan is the site of Ardfinnan Castle which is built on a height overlooking the River Suir. Ardfinnan also has one of the few remaining Village Greens in Ireland which is on the bank of the River Suir.  It was also the home of Ardfinnan Woollen Mills which are the two buildings on the left and right hand side of the roadway on the opposite bank of the River Suir.
