Muintir na Tíre - National Association for the Promotion of Community Development in Ireland


Muintir na Tíre is a national voluntary organisation dedicated to promoting the process of community development. Canon Hayes founded the organisation in 1937. Muintir na Tíre aims to enhance the capacities of people in communities, rural and urban, to become involved in local social, economic, cultural and environmental development.

The Launch of Community Alert Awareness Month

Community Alert Awareness Month was launched by presidential candidate Mary Davis in the Excel theatre, Tipperary town on the 26th of September 2011.

  

 

"Best Practice Exchange a roaring success." 

Down District Community Safety Network (DDCSN), a sub committee of Down District Community Safety Partnership, Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators and PSNI headed to Sligo to meet with representatives from Muintir na Tire to share ideas on how groups North and South of the border tackle community safety issues.
